How much progress is being made? Report progress on your learning of Technical Writing on China MOOCs. Address the memo to your instructor, and use the following outline to plan for your progress report. Under each heading, you may add subheadings if several ideas will be covered in that section. HEADING IN REPORT WHAT THAT SECTION COVERS Introduction l Name the project. l Indicate the reporting period, which is the time the report covers. l State the purpose of the report Work Completed What has been done. l Because your reader is probably most concerned about what you have done on the project, ensure that this section is clear and accurate. Place your most important ideas first. After all, this is your opportunity to tell what you have achieved. l Use past tense verbs. l Use subheadings (to separate tasks) or bulleted lists. When only one or two tasks are included, subheadings are optional. Work in progress Work currently being done. Work to be completed What needs to be done. l Tell your reader what work needs to be done. l Use future tense verbs. l Separate and emphasize each major task or job with subheadings, as you did in the Work Completed section. Remember to use subheadings when you have three or more tasks.
