I am happy that you are now in America. I am happy that you have made new friends from around the world. All of you are growing every day.

Like many people, you decided to come to America. You are learning a new language and a new culture(文化). It takes a lot of time and hard work. You are doing great!

Welcome. And, thank you!

I'd like to give you some simple advice (忠告)

1) Learn to speak up. Ask for help when you need it. Most Americans are friendly and helpful.

2) Don't be afraid of making mistakes. You cannot learn without making mistakes.

3) Get out and meet people.

4) Don't forget your dreams (梦想). Work hard for the things that are important to you.

5) You are going through many difficulties now. But remember that these difficulties will make you stronger for the future.

6) Smile!

You came from many different parts of the world to this class. I am very glad to be your teacher. I wish each of you well in the future.
