听力原文:W: Hey, Geff. Have you been to the new library yet? M: Oh, hi, Jen. Yes, I went

last week to check it out. I really like it. W: Yes, I like it too. I like the study areas. There seems to be a lot of room just to spread out and focus on the books. Its much better than the old library where it seemed like we were all jammed into one area. Sometimes it was even hard to find a spot to study because it was so crowded, especially during exams. 1 even like the chairs at the new place. Theyre super comfy. M: Youre right. The only bad thing about it is that its pretty far away. It takes me about twenty minutes to get there by bus. So, 1 can see myself not going all the way downtown if Im in a pinch for time. Id probably just stay in residence and study there. W: I was thinking that too. Its too bad it takes so long to get there. I dont like being dependent on the buses. Have you tried riding your bike there? It might take a little longer but at least youre getting a bit of exercise. M: Thats a good idea, Jen. Maybe Ill try riding this week. I just have to make sure Im good and rested. Sometimes, when Im overtired Im not too coordinated. Knowing me, Id have a load of books in my backpack and get distracted by something and crash my bike. W: Hmm. Well, youve just got to keep an eye out for those potholes. Oh, wow. Look at the time! Ive got to get to my next class. Ill see you around, Geff. M: Good talking to you, Jen. Ill be seeing you. Questions 12 to 15 are based on the conversation you have just heard. 12. What did the man do last week? 13. What is mentioned about the new library? 14. A.It is near the university.

听力原文: As a result of rising university costs, many students are finding it necessary to take on part-time jobs. To make finding those jobs easier, the placement service has put together a listing of what is available locally. For some students, these part-time jobs could lead to the full-time work after graduation, as they may offer experience in their own field, be that finance, marketing or even management. For example, National Savings Bank offers work on a half-time basis. Thats 20 hours per week. Retail stores and restaurants have positions requiring fewer hours. Even less time is expected of those providing child care. We have a number of families registered with us who are looking for baby sitters for as few as four hours a week. For students who prefer outdoor work, therere seasonal positions right on campus, working with the gardening and landscaping teams. These often require the most time and they are the least flexible in terms of scheduling. To see a complete list of these and other available jobs, including the salary offered and the hours required, stop by our office and be sure to bring a resume with you. When you find something that interests you, well put you in touch with the person offering it. In addition, our counsellors will give you hints about a successful interviewing. Questions 22 to 25 are based on the passage you have just heard. 22. Whats the purpose of the talk? 23. What should students bring with them to the office? 24. What will the counsellors at the office help students do? 25. What do the jobs have in common?23.

听力原文: There was a gardener who looked after his garden with great care. To water his flowers, he used two buckets. One was a shiny and new bucket. The other was a very old and worn-out one, which had seen many years of service, but was now past its best. Every morning, the gardener would fill up the two buckets. Then he would carry them along the path, one on each side, to the flowerbeds. The new bucket was very proud of itself. It could carry a full bucket of water without a single drop spilled. The old bucket felt very ashamed because of its holes: before it reached the flowerbeds, much water had leaked along the path. Sometimes the new bucket would say, "See how capable I am! How good it is that the gardener has me to water the flowers every day! I dont know why he still bothers with you. What a waste of space you are!" And all that the old bucket could say was, "I know I am not very useful, but I can only do my best. I am happy that the gardener still finds a little bit of use in me, at least." One day, the gardener heard that kind of conversation. After watering the flowers as usual, he said, "You both have done your work very well. Now I am going to carry you back. I want you to look carefully along the path." Then the two buckets did so. All along the path, they noticed, on the side where the new bucket was carried, there was just bare earth; on the other side where the old bucket was carried, there was a joyous row of wild flowers, leading all the way to the garden. Questions 19 to 21 are based on the passage you have just heard. 19. What was the old bucket ashamed of? 20. What was the new buckets main purpose of making conversations with the old one? 21. Why was the old bucket still kept by the gardener?20.

A.To laugh at the old one.

B.To take pity on the old one.

C.To show off its beautiful looks.

D.To praise the gardener"s kindness.
