National Treasure A large-scale cultural exploration program National Treasure was recently launched by China's Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing. This TV program, which showcases the history of many of China's cultural relics, has become a huge hit. The weekly program, "National Treasure" was first aired by CCTV on December 3, 2017. Across 10 episodes, a total of 27 national treasures from nine major Chinese museums were presented. This program brings these relics to life and displays their unique beauty through different artistic methods. The opening episode showed three of China’s finest cultural treasures from the Palace Museum in Beijing: the painting "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains," the Large Vase with Variegated Glazes and a stone drum. Yu Lei, chief producer of the program, said “As a cultural show, National Treasure aims to make ancient relics come alive. We want our viewers to feel that the cultural relics are like people and that they have their own personalities and lives.” She added, “People’s interest in culture as well as the tradition and workmanship of the Chinese nation has become a trend. This has encouraged us to better promote our fine culture.
